What it is

KPV is a tripeptide — just three amino acids (lysine-proline-valine) — corresponding to the tail end of the hormone α-MSH. That small fragment carries much of α-MSH’s anti-inflammatory activity without its pigmentation effects.

How it is thought to work

In preclinical models it appears to dampen inflammatory signaling (including NF-κB pathways), with particular interest in the gut, where it has been studied in models of intestinal inflammation.

The evidence and the caveat

The anti-inflammatory rationale is reasonable and the preclinical data is supportive, but human trial evidence is sparse. It’s often stacked with BPC-157 in community recovery discussion — that’s anecdotal practice, not validated protocol.
