Growth Hormone Secretagogues Evidence: Mixed

A synthetic analog of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) designed for a longer duration of action, studied for stimulating the body's own GH release.

What it is & how it works

What it is

CJC-1295 is a synthetic analog of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH), the upstream signal that tells the pituitary to release growth hormone. It was designed to last longer in the body than natural GHRH.

How it is thought to work

As a GHRH analog, CJC-1295 increases the amplitude of natural GH pulses. Because it works on a different pathway than a ghrelin-receptor agonist, it is frequently discussed in combination with ipamorelin — the idea being complementary mechanisms.

The evidence gap

The mechanism is well established; rigorous human outcome data in healthy users is not. The “with DAC vs without DAC” distinction materially changes its behavior and is a common source of confusion and mislabeling.

What it's discussed & studied for

  • Growth hormone / IGF-1 support
  • Recovery and body composition (anecdotal)

Discussion of a use is not a claim that it works or is approved.

Research status

Early research as a GHRH analog; not an approved therapy. Commonly discussed paired with ipamorelin.

Evidence quality

Limited human data. The GHRH mechanism is established; outcomes at community doses are largely anecdotal.

Dosing discussion

Two forms are discussed — with and without DAC (Drug Affinity Complex), which changes half-life. Community microgram protocols exist but are not clinically validated.

Educational summary of what is discussed in the literature and community — not a dosing recommendation or medical advice.

Safety & harm reduction

Human safety at community doses is not established. Water retention and injection-site effects are commonly reported anecdotally. Not FDA-approved.

Sourcing literacy

'CJC-1295' with vs without DAC are different in practice; mislabeling is common. Verify which form and its purity via third-party testing.

FAQ

What's the difference between CJC-1295 with and without DAC?

The DAC (Drug Affinity Complex) version is engineered to last much longer in the body, changing how it's discussed and dosed. They are not interchangeable.

Is CJC-1295 approved?

No. It is not an approved therapy and is sold for research use only.
